Founded by Billy Raftery, Jr. and NBA legend Grant Hill, Point Road Productions is an award winning production company with a development fund whose focus is character driven documentaries about social issues and movements in-and-out of sports to raise awareness and impact lasting change.

BILLY RAFTERY
DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / WRITER
Billy Raftery graduated Columbia University and founded the Children Rise Foundation where he directed and produced his first film, award-winning and Best South African Documentary ANGELS IN EXILE narrated by Academy Award winner Charlize Theron (Amazon Prime) in 2016. In 2018, he founded Point Road Productions with NBA legend and Executive Producer Grant Hill to begin accruing a robust slate of Intellectual Properties that are currently in development or production. Today, Billy is directing and producing several films in production with industry leader Cinetic Media. First up is the soon to be released THE LAST AMATEUR, featuring former 5-star Kansas Jayhawk hooper turned pro Silvio DeSousa, and Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Jay Bilas.
While at Point Road, Billy has directed, written and produced other acclaimed and award winning films like THE MAESTRO: ROLLIE MASSIMINO STORY (Fox Films), WITH A KISS (CBS, Turner Sports), THE PREPPIE CONNECTION (Showtime, IFC Films) and LONG SHOT (Hulu, option by WWE Studios). He also kickstarted ESPN's Fan Stories branded campaign with DOCTOR FANDOM.

GRANT HILL
BOARD MEMBER / EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Grant graduated from Duke University (‘94) where he won back-to-back NCAA basketball championship titles and became the eighth player in the program’s history to have his number retired. Along the way he won multiple awards including ACC Player of the Year and 2-time NCAA All-American. He then went on to play in the NBA for 19-years where he achieved NBA Rookie of the Year, was a seven time NBA All Star, three-time NBA Sportsmanship Award winner and more. He is currently an announcer as one of CBS NCAA Basketball’s lead voices. Grant is a co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks (NBA), Baltimore Orioles (MLB), Orlando City SC (MLS) and Orlando Pride (NWSL).
As a filmmaker, Grant co-produced DUKE 91 & 92: BACK TO BACK and STARTING AT THE FINISH LINE: THE COACH BUEHLER STORY. The films aired on Turner Sports’ TruTV, TBS, CBS and TNT.
Grant is the founder of Hill Ventures, a marketing company, and Penta Capital, a private equity firm. He is also a franchisee of Subway in underserved communities in hopes of attracting more commerce and employment in these areas as well as offering healthier food options. Grant is also one of the world’s premier collectors of African American Art.
Grant and Billy Raftery’s first co-producing endeavor was on CBS Sports/Turner Sports’ WITH A KISS on legendary basketball announcer, Bill Raftery. Now they are producing partners at Point Road Productions.

TAYLOR MATERNE
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Taylor is the Writer and EP of the Netflix hit film, HUSTLE, starring Adam Sandler and NBA Basketball legends. Currently, he has multiple feature/scripted projects set in the sports space with Paramount, Universal, Apple and Nike.
On the unscripted side, Taylor wrote and EP’d the TNT/Bleacher Report documentary, DOMINOES, about the NBA’s response to the Covid outbreak. He also executive produced the documentaries CORMAN’S WORLD and LETTERS TO ELIA as well as the forthcoming documentary, THE LAST AMATEUR, with Kevin Garnett and Jay Bilas, directed by Billy. He also produced Billy’s first film, ANGELS IN EXILE. He currently has a docuseries in development at Netflix as well as one revolving around the famous Los Angeles based pro-am, The Drew League. He is represented by CAA and Grandview Entertainment.
Taylor is poised and enthusiastic about bringing his writing and producing talent as well as deeply woven industry credibility and connections to Point Road.
ASHLEY LINTON
BOARD MEMBER / EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Ashley joined Point Road as a Board Member and Executive Producer while advising on our business operations and strategizing. With his musical background (his band 9lb. opened for Tool, Warp Tour, etc.) and a passion for film, fine arts and extreme sports, he is also a Raleigh, North Carolina native with a background steeped in real estate development. Ashley is the Principal of Vertical Walls (a retaining wall company), Byrd-Cannon and a Board Member of The Tugboat Foundation. Ashley takes great pride as a North Carolina State alum and booster.
